On the width and mean value of bubble size distributions under subcooled flow boiling

• A new correlation for the width of bubble diameter PDF is presented. An improved mean statistical model size in flow boiling systems analyzed. comprehensive dataset concerning more than 940,000 bubbles given as an electronic annex. In this work, a about sizes water The experimental setup basically consists lower copper heated plate embedded horizontal rectangular channel flow. Several conditions, ranging bulk velocities: 0.1–0.9 [m·s ?1 ]; mass fluxes: 96.9–871.8 [kg·m ?2 ·s subcooling degrees: 16–36 [°C]; heat 200–650 [kW·m ] and pressures: 110–190 [kPa] were set three cooper plates different roughness, with S : 0.45, 1.23 7.43 [µm], respectively. Based on current samples, probability function normalized has been described by lognormal pdf any condition dimensionless standard deviation distribution order to completely describe subcooled systems, value also presented here, after deep review previously published datasets.
